It has been a LONG time since I posted, so I thought I would brighten your day with my bold combo! 

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I am in LOVE with the Maxi! The mix of vertical vs. horizontal black/white stripe combo is to die for! I have been looking for this dress ALL SEASON! 

You can breathe easy now, because obviously I found it! 

 The bold yellow adds the trend of color-blocking that gives it a touch of sunshine! 

So remember dress to inspire, 

but every once in a while, dress to shine!

DTI Dress for Success....or College?

Hello Y'all,

Well, it takes a lot to get out of bed early, get dressed, and look cute running out the door. We all know what this is like, especially on a college campus. So how do we look good on the go? 

Jordan knows. 

Take some key points from this outfit! 

• Tights:GET THEM NOW!
• Any pair of TOMS will have you soaring on wings of compliments!
• Jewelry can dress up any outfit! 
• Do your hair for pete sake....its one of the most beautiful things we possess! 

So yes, this is short and simple, but so is fashion. It only takes one person to start a change, so today Jordan started it- now you finish it!

The Fashion that Shines, Shapes, and Shows

Good Afternoon DTI Fellows,

Today's post is full of INSPIRing outfits found by yours truly through my worldly travels. Okay, maybe not worldly, but definitely around the US of A...digitally. ;) 

Jordan

To be quite frank and honest, Jordan is absolutely beautiful and could look cute in a t-shirt and jeans-but really. However, she chooses to dazzle us with her style and poise. This is only one example of the spectacular fashion combinations she has put together over my years of knowing her. She is pretty much a fashionista at her core! 

Not only is she rocking an amazing turquoise plaid tunic, but you HAVE to love the metallic rolled up denim! I don't care who you are or what fashion genre you adore, these pants are the cream of the crop of fashion! 

This outfit is out of control and is one that shines DTI!

Well, if I told you she was a model, you would understand why shes's on this post. But if I told you she's been one of my good friends for years and is one of the sweetest people I know, you might understand more. I don't just put anyone on here...come on guys, give me some credit ;) 

She's always been a classic mix between vintage and 'Anthro' fashion, but this outfit was too amazing not to share. Hannah is one who brings the class of beauty, brains, and talent and somehow shows that in her style. 

This outfit, detailed with a geometric pant leg, staple necklace, and studded earrings would alone be one creative ensemble. BUT you add the classic blazer and the ever-so-stylish open-toed pumps, the cherry is immediately added to the top of this amazing fashion dish. 

Her outfit is not only great, but its the look that shapes all DTI fashion followers.

So, as you all know Sam from my previous post, is a teacher at the high school in my hometown. Yes, she is the lucky gal that gets to see the likes of high school fashion on a daily basis---we award her for her patience and well....courage. With that said, she "instaposted" a pair of sneaks one of her students......CREATED. Yes, you may think oh everyone does that Jess...well you may be right, but lets see if your's can pull off the trends of geometric shapes and Pantone color scheme? Yep...didn't think so. 

These masterpieces' show DTI in a whole new way! Way to go kid!

DTI Spotlight-The ONE, The ONLY, SAMANTHAMAZING...

I have been waiting to write this post since the first day I started this blog! 

Samantha Jo Berry  is one of the most amazingly, hilarious, and awesomest young women I have the pleasure of knowing. She dares to be bold and through her boldness she inspires the hearts of so many. 

She is a teacher, a daughter, a sister, a mentor, and one of my very best friends. 

No one would say this out loud, but pretty people have pretty friends, and because we all know I am bold and honest, I'll just say what we all think, I'm pretty good looking ;) . With that out in the open, I have pretty friends...enter in

She LOVES fashion just as much as me, if not more and she is creatively always finding the next trend to make up so that we all can follow seasons later. She is the epitome of 'fashionista' and I totally claim her...

With that, she sent me her outfit today. Therefore, DTI Spotlight. .

This. Is. Amazing. 

She paired amazingly cute ballet flats (brownie points for the bow) with a chic black skirt, white boyfriend top, and a lovely ruffled cardigan (super trendy). 

You don't even have to mention her Warby Parker glasses to make this a fantastic outfit, but they help bring the whole NYC glam-casual look together! 

Ladies, take it from a girl who has amazing taste, this chick has got it going on. 

I have to say, I love this girl for her spunk, her fashion taste, and that this girl knows just how to make me laugh.

DTI Challenge Week #4- Be CREATIVE - 1 Shirt/3 Ways!

It's Friday DTI Ladies! 

Today's challenge will be short, sweet, and SASSY! I was looking for inspiration, and of course I found it in my go-to spot- Refinery29! Seriously, everyone should look at this AT LEAST once a week! It's could be called my Fashion To-Do for each day! 

So for today, our challenge is to first:

1.  Find one of your favorite shirts! 

Here's a few helpful hints:

• Stripes or Solids is always a great 'go-to'
• Try to stay away from plain black/brown just because it doesn't leave much room for creativity
• Blk/White stripes is my favorite, but plaids are a great 'go-to' as well

I found this example on Refinery29 and had to share! 

2. Pair the shirt with ... and GO...

• Jeans + Jacket + Handbag & GO
• Shorts + Vest + Layered Necklace + Flats & GO
• Skirt + Heels + Clutch & GO

DTI Challenge Week #3-Be BRIGHT, Wear NEON!!

• Read any books in B&N or research Designers (they always have an opinion of classic)
• READ THIS BLOG

So, for the challenge...This season NEON was the common theme throughout fashion, from Forever 21 to Neiman Marcus. You can find neon anywhere. This trend is probably one of my favorites, besides the ever so lovely little black dress. (classic) 

I have put together of a collage of a few of my favorite NEON trends from Refinery 29 which is one of my FAVES of fashion do's and don'ts! 

CHALLENGE = WEAR NEON

Helpful Hints:

• Neon Tanks are always classic with black pants and flip flops for the casual look
• Sandals with neon colors will look great with almost ANY outfit (promise)
• The Brighter the better! 
• Try to match it with other things that will dress it down (denim jeans, vests, and solid colors help a lot) 

I know many of you might not have any neon, so I promise you that if you at least invest in one Neon Tank or Jean, you will not regret it! They will return for Spring/Summer 2013.

Pin-FABULOUS-Interest PRINTS!

Hello DTI Ladies,

Today's post is short, sweet, and fabulous. It involves one of my favorite addictions (the good kind), besides Starbucks of course ;) 

PINTEREST! 

Yes, this was an answered prayer. You think I'm kidding. For YEARS I have asked for forgiveness for judging ladies who bless their hearts could not dress themselves. THEN it occurred to me that they really just didn't have access to the knowledge I did (or at least that was my hope). FINALLY Pinterest was invented, as I have found out, on a napkin in Silicon Valley, Cali!

I never thought I would PRAISE GOD for napkins! 

So, here is my fabulous finds of Pinterest. It doesn't take me long to get carried away, so that's why I made a collage to keep me centered on my #1 goal, PRINTS!

• sTrIpEs are a girls best friend, whether on a top, sweater with boots and leggings, or a beautiful Maxi; Stripes will always be stylish, beautiful and even more than those, FABULOUS! 

• fLoRaL may be a little "girly" for some of you but I promise, once you go floral you won't go back. There is something nostalgic and wondrous about floral that makes you feel your childhood roots growing back and turning into a fashion pop of greatness! 

• pLaId will always be a favorite. It's classic, chic, and truly can be worn with ANYTHING! Pair it like shown above underneath a solid sweater, or tie with a solid tank, or even add a trick and do striped bottoms and a plaid top, too crazy? NOPE!  

So here are my fabulouso Pinterest finds! I hope this gives you more options, and even more clarity on what you can do with what you have.
